About Rotary International

Rotary International is an international service organisation whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a non-political and non-sectarian organisation open to all people regardless of race, colour, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. There are 34,282 member clubs worldwide, and 1.2million individuals, known as Rotarians, that have joined.

Rotarians usually gather weekly for breakfast (as we do at Rotary Noosa Daybreak every Thursday) or lunch or dinner to fulfil their first guiding principle to develop friendships as an opportunity for service.

The Rotarian’s primary motto is “Service Above Self”
The Rotarian’s secondary motto is “One profits most who serves best”

About Rotary Noosa Daybreak

We are a group of local people ourselves, with diverse backgrounds, joined together as friends, focused on the humanitarian needs in our community and in the world, and how we can make them better. We all can discover these needs and our Club welcomes everyone’s ideas, so just call us. Our enjoyment comes from the reward of seeing Rotary’s work improve the lives of others. Besides, we have fun while at work.

Rotary Noosa Daybreak was chartered in May 1999 and a part of Rotary International, a global organization of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who are working together to create positive, lasting change in the world to deliver humanitarian aid and charitable support to disadvantaged communities and individuals in Australia and Overseas.

Rotary Noosa Daybreak has a Breakfast on Thursday mornings at Cafe VinCino, Noosa Marina, Tewantin, sometimes with interesting speakers; where we can broaden our networks; and learn more about Rotary. We also arrange special events in the local community and enjoy social gatherings with like-minded friends. Our members come from all walks of life from Noosa to Coolum areas.

Our signature Fundraising event – “Bookfest Noosa” where we sell thousands of good quality pre-loved books, is held during the May long weekend each year at the Noosa Leisure Center.

We support many local causes, including Drought and Flood Relief Fund Raising, The Salvation Army and Delivering for Meals on Wheels. We donate prizes to local Primary and High Schools and the Seahorse Nippers and many other ongoing projects. By our liaison with local High Schools, these Projects “Open Opportunities” for the very important Youth Driver Awareness; we promote Youth Leadership Awards; Youth Exchange Programmes; and the annual prestigious National Youth Science Forum.

Internationally our club assists projects in Cambodia and the Solomon Islands; and collectively we are helping to eradicate Polio Worldwide, also providing disaster relief, and improving literacy and lifestyles locally and globally.

The Rotary Foundation is committed to transforming lives and communities around the world through sustainable, life-changing projects. Last year, The Rotary Foundation awarded more than $300 million in grants to improve communities.
